From Dore Alley to Lazy Bear Week!

Hey Lazy Bear family!

This will be my very first Lazy Bear, and I’m equal parts excited and nervous to finally experience it!

A little about me… I’m Jimmy, a gay Latino from San Diego (originally from LA). By day I’m an educator and school administrator who’s passionate about helping kids and building community. I also recently completed my doctorate, which has me feeling like this summer is all about saying yes to new adventures.

Outside of work, I’m an avid traveler, language learner, and someone who genuinely enjoys getting to know people and hearing their stories. I’m fluent in English and Spanish, conversational in French, and I’m always looking for an excuse to practice another language.

I’d describe myself as caring, considerate, curious, easygoing, and someone who believes the best adventures usually begin by saying yes to something new.

I’ll be in San Francisco for Dore Alley, staying in SoMa through July 27 before heading up to Guerneville for the week. Since it’s my first Lazy Bear, I’m hoping to meet some awesome people along the way.

One more reason this trip feels especially meaningful: I’ll be celebrating my birthday that Thursday during Lazy Bear! It feels like the perfect way to start a new chapter, surrounded by good people, new experiences, and hopefully a few unforgettable memories.

If anyone is driving from SF to Guerneville on the 27th and has room for one more, I’d be more than happy to split gas, buy the coffee, and keep you company on the drive! I’d also love any first-timer advice or recommendations for things I absolutely shouldn’t miss.

I’m single, open to new experiences, new friendships, and seeing where the weekend leads. At the very least, I’m hoping to come home with unforgettable memories. If I’m lucky, maybe a few lifelong friends… and if the universe is feeling extra generous, maybe I’ll meet a kind, handsome guy who reminds me that the best connections usually happen when you least expect them.

If you love to travel, enjoy meaningful conversations, don’t mind bouncing between English, Spanish, or a little French, or simply appreciate meeting kind people, I’d love to say hello.

Looking forward to meeting some of you soon. Happy Lazy Bear!
