Lazy Bear Week 2026 Game Night: What Are You Playing?
Game Nights return to Lazy Bear Week!
This year, Game Night will be held at the Surrey Resort Main Lodge on Thursday, July 30 and Friday, July 31. The lodge gives us plenty of room for a variety of games, whether you’re looking for something strategic, social, competitive, cooperative, or completely ridiculous.
We’re beginning to organize hosted games and would love to hear what people are interested in playing.
Some possibilities already suggested include:
• Dungeons & Dragons
• Magic: The Gathering Commander
• Board games
• Card games
• Party games
• Strategy games
• RPGs
• Bring-your-own favorites like we do every year!
If you’re interested in participating, please reply below and let us know:
What game(s) are you interested in?
Would you like to play, host, teach, or GM?
What is your experience level? (Beginner, Intermediate, Experienced)
Which night are you most interested in: Thursday, Friday, or both?
This thread is intended to gauge interest and help us plan space and hosted games. Additional details and signups for specific activities will follow as we get closer to Lazy Bear Week.
I’d be interested to learn how to play D&D. I enjoy party and strategy games too. I’m an intermediate party and strategy board game player, and a beginner D&D player.
I’m planning to bring a couple commander decks and I know a few other folks who are as well. Would love to play Magic with some folks.
It would be cool to do board games, but I figure simple, group/party game sort of things will be the best fit for the event rather than longer, more complicated strategy games.
How many bodies can the game room fit, standing and sitting? Is there AV, Wi-fi? A flat wall we can project on?
There are roomwide games like Werewolf where there’s not so much setup and pieces to distribute, on the digital side Jackbox brand games can entertain anyone in eyeshot of the screen; players need an internet connected phone/tablet as their controller.
All good questions, and exactly the kind of ideas we’re hoping to surface through this discussion.
At this stage, we’re primarily trying to gauge interest and understand what kinds of games and activities attendees would like to see at Game Night. Once we have a better sense of participation and demand, we’ll be able to make more informed decisions about space, setup, and logistics.
It’s a big room and over the two nights, we are aiming for a variety of games in the space. there are power outlets, a screen and, as we all know, g-ville wi-fi is not reliable.
Werewolf, Jackbox, D&D, Commander, board games, party games, and other hosted activities are all welcome suggestions. Right now we’re most interested in hearing what people would like to play, host, teach, or organize.
